This furnished 19th century ironmaster’s residence and industrial complex ruins was redesigned in the early 20th century to emulate an English country house and estate. The legacies of the mansion builders, ironmaster Charles Brooks and Franklin Swayne and the evolution of the 19th century iron plantation are explored through a self-guided Walking Tour of Hibernia’s Historic Ruins, mansion tours and special events. The 1,336 acre Hibernia County Park is open daily for recreational opportunities and self-guided tours of the grounds.
Mansion Tours: Sundays from 1-4pm (Memorial to Labor Day) or by appointment; Guided tour charge.
Grounds open: 8am-dusk; Park admission free.
