Historic Fallisington, Inc., is a private, non-profit historic preservation organization and museum which has been preserving and sharing the 300-year-old village of Fallsington since 1953. The village, which consists of over 90 historic buildings from the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries, was significant as a religious, social, and market center for the surrounding community, as well as a stop-over point for stagecoach travelers. William Penn, while in residence at nearby Pennsbury Manor, attended religious services in Fallsington. In recent years, the village has acquired additional significance for its sheer ability to survive, as it has become surrounded by industry, commercial strips, highways, and housing developments. In the face of overwhelming development pressures, Historic Fallsington, Inc. has preserved six historic buildings.
Tours focus on historic architecture, furniture, material culture and local history run Tuesday-Saturday from mid-May to October. The remainder of the year, weekdays by appointment. Hours subject to change. Reservations suggested. Closed on Sundays, Mondays, and major holidays. Admission charged.
